Roll with Me.

First Course

Hey! Welcome back to my 3rd weekly newsletter..

This past week, I encountered some new experiences, progress in key areas, annddd some good ‘ol setbacks.

Cuz you gotta keep the good with the bad- balance in everything.

Let’s dig in!

Meat and Potatoes

Got some new updates for y’all! 💯

Check it out..

New Product OTW

I’m beyond excited for you all to have access to it and to try it for yourselves! I know it’s gonna be huuggeee!!! I’m patiently waiting 🤞🏻

In other news, I recently got a minor concussion 🙁

At Jiu Jitsu during this week’s class, I ended up rolling with some big guns.. a couple of guys who each had easily 50 lbs on me.

It went surprisingly better than I thought!

I did good at standing my ground and making sure to defend myself as much as possible versus these guys who were experienced.

But unfortunately, by the end of class I was spinning, couldn’t sit or stand still, and had a bloody nose.. I went too hard!

It was rough..

I ended up having to chill out in the locker room after class, where I sat in the shower oscillating between hot and cold water for a good 10 minutes or so..

I didn’t leave the gym until about an hour later that night. 😕

Honestly, the experience really deterred me from combat sports.

Although, it definetely boosted my confidence knowning that I could hang with the big dogs.. But at the expense of my brain??

I think not!.. Brain health » Everything else

We’ll see if I decide to go back this upcoming week.. 🤔

A powerful lesson one of the guys I rolled with told me was -

“It’s all about position, not submission.”

By staying in a dominant position, a skilled fighter will find the submission like threading a needle in a haystack.. (or however it goes lol)

My strength in those rolls was defending my position, or, avoiding being submitted.

My weakness was getting bored of defending, and taking risky shots at a submission.

Something to keep in mind, neither good or bad, it just meant that I got banged up more than I would have had I just remained on defense.

…But where’s the fun in that?! 😉

It’s all good either way!

I learned some valuable lessons through the process to share with you all. 🙏🏻

Gravy Train

Something on my startup journey that I’ve been bingeing lately, has been this YouTube channel called School of Hard Knocks.

The guy who runs it is a young guy, around the age of 22, who asks stellar questions to rich entrepreneurs- mostly millionaires and even some billionaires!

If you’re looking to start a business, or just into entrepreneurship, I would highly recommend watching through some of these case studies.
